Minimal Style on a Budget

All outfits under £200

I get a lot of DM’s on Instagram for more budget friendly options so I thought I’d put together a few outfits to show you how you can absolutely look gorgeous on a budget.

Minimal style, in particular, requires a bit of thought and care when trying to achieve an overall simple, yet elevated aesthetic when you have a budget to stick to. There’s so many high end brands that do it so well but sometimes when you ‘re trying to achieve that look from the high street, they can fall a bit short.

But, there’s always options and it’s all about trawling through and looking for those elements that you love. It might be that you invest in a really lovely tailored pair of trousers from a higher prices high street store like Cos (these ones are my favourite) and then get a simple white tee or vest, a pair of flip flops and a classic oversized shirt. I also like to shop the second hand shops for mens shirts. You can often find really lovely brands at bargain prices and you’ll get the same look as a really lovely high end women’s shirting brand.

A good idea is to look at the brands you love. Say for example The Row. Take a look at their website. Look at the styling and the detailing. Then search for this in a less expensive store. The way things are styled can really help you filter through the noise when trying to achieve a particular look. You may have one piece similar in your own wardrobe and then you can just take inspiration with how to put together a look. This means you’re not constantly searching for a whole outfit, but just small elements that will fit in with what you already own.

The outfits I have put together here have a mainly neutral palate, but if you want to inject a bit of colour, then swapping out a white vest for a bright blue or red one will still give you that simple look. Or maybe add a statement shoe of bag to give your outfit a touch of personality while still retaining that minimal aesthetic.

Take a look below for my ideas. All outfits cost under £200 in total and as you can see, they all look amazing.
